Family is Forever

We had an amazing opportunity to shoot a really great family last week. And when I say an amazing opportunity, I truly mean it. We had this lovely mom with her daughter and two sons and to make it even better, they brought in their 6-month-old puppy for the shoot too! If you haven't met Landon yet, you will soon find out just how much he LOVES dogs.

Personally, I love to shoot families. I think it is great (and fun!) to get to know people. The best way to find a person's true self, is to surround them by people they love. This family could not have been sweeter. Once we crammed two photographers, 4 models, and one puppy in our studio, things got hot in there! The A/C was on but we definitely could have used a fan or two. Yet, not once did those kids complain about the heat. Once we finished the photos in the studio, the family switched clothes to these adorable flannel shirts for some outside shots. I am not sure if you have noticed our July weather, but it has been anything but cool. Smoldering hot air plus flannel shirts! That family could not have been any hotter than if they were sitting in a furnace. But, yet again, not a single complaint from any of them! I was so beyond impressed that these young people were so amazing to work with!

Now back to the puppy for a second. Their dog is a Labradoodle, which was really great for Landon and I to get to meet. I have some pretty bad allergies when it comes to dogs. I always vowed it wouldn't stop me from owning a dog, though. I have talked at great length with Landon about getting a labradoodle because they are bred to be hypoallergenic. Meaning I can live with them! They don’t shed as much and don’t have pet dander that can drive a person like me crazy with allergies. Landon fell in love with their puppy. When you see the pictures, you can tell why. He was so well trained and behaved and was super photogenic. I think I was able to completely convince Landon we should get one!

Now back to the family! I had such a fun time taking their family photos and I hope the family is just as pleased with them. I know their plans were to use them for Christmas cards and hanging on the wall, and I believe we delivered amazing photos they will enjoy sharing with their family. If you or anyone you know needs some pictures for their Christmas cards this year, let us know! We are always happy to put together mini sessions.
