What It Is Like Working With Landon
I thought today I would write about what it is like to live, work, eat, and breath with Landon. He is the love of my life and the jelly to my peanut butter (even though he can't eat peanuts). He makes me happier than I ever thought one person could. Ironically we met while working together.
We both worked at a job that we liked but it wasn't our passion! We wanted something more out of life. I come from a family full of incredibly creative people. I always felt like I didn't have a creative bone in my body. However, when I met Landon, I felt like I could do anything! It was like a spark went off inside of me.
So this rock loving fool convinced me we should find our true passions in life. Photography was something Landon had done his entire life. His whole family is nuts about it! I always thought I could take a decent picture but it wasn't something I explored much in my youth. But once I saw how it sparked such life in Landon I had to try it out. I found that I absolutely LOVE taking pictures. Not just taking pictures, though, but telling a story without saying a word. To me, photography turned into this expressive art that I could actually create. I didn't have to hold a paint brush or sculpt clay. I had to take the emotions and meaning I could see with my eye and put it in a picture.
Now I find myself looking at everyday objects and taking pictures of them in my mind. It's crazy how your whole life can change when you find a passion! We never leave the house without three cameras and we love going for day trips just to find interesting places to take pictures. Poor Annie gets dragged outside during all kinds of weather to take pictures (she is my favorite model).
Now to the fun part. What is it like working with Landon? Well be prepared to have things change at least 100 times before it is done. I love this man to death but sometimes I can't be part of a project or I will lose my mind. He is so passionate and so creative that it causes him to be a perfectionist with his projects. Don't get me wrong, I love to make my projects look amazing too, but Landon takes it to a whole new level! When we discussed making our business cards, I told Landon he should just design them. I could make up a cute design that I would love, but Landon would go and change a ton of stuff about it anyways. So I decided to save time to just have to him design them.
I don't get mad or frustrated about it. Just something I have to keep reminding myself. He is a perfectionist and I need determine if it is even worth me starting a project or just let him run the show. I will occasionally put my foot down and insist that something is mine and he can't touch it but not often. He has an amazing eye (just look at our photos) so it is worth the changes to have him approve of an idea.
Honestly, I wouldn't change a single thing about him and I know that our long happy life together is going to be a crazy, wild, amazing ride!
